ABOUT

Yi Zhou (Zoey Zhou) is a London-based interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and performance technologist working across interactive installation, live performance, computational media, and digital scenography.
Her practice brings together a background in storytelling and directing with computational and interactive technologies, exploring how technology can shape relationships between bodies, space, narrative, and participation.
She works with TouchDesigner, creative coding, motion tracking, projection, sound, and physical computing, using technology not simply as a visual effect, but as an active system that influences how audiences perceive, respond, and make choices.
Her current research focuses on audience agency, embodied anticipation, waiting, feedback, and technologically mediated participation, particularly within interactive and immersive environments.
Yi Zhou (Zoey Zhou) trained in Radio and Television Scriptwriting and Directing in China before continuing her postgraduate studies in Computational Arts at Goldsmiths, University of London. This transition from narrative-led practice to computational art continues to shape her interest in interactive and immersive storytelling.
